ABOUT DISTRICT VI
There is no more dynamic and rapidly growing area of the city of Houston than the communities of District VI.
The district encompasses sections of the Memorial, Energy Corridor, Westchase, Briargrove, Piney Point, Sharpstown, and Brays Oaks neighborhoods. More than 20,000 H.I.S.D. students are served across 20 elementary, early childhood, middle, and high school campuses.

District VI offers families a wide range of academic offerings across its schools, including dual language, vanguard, fine arts, STEM, “The Leader in Me”, international studies, environmental science, technology, and career preparation.
The rapid growth of the communities comprising District VI require and deserve a committed and persuasive representative advocating on their behalf.
Of the twenty campuses located within District VI, twelve are currently enrolled at more than 90 percent of their facilities’ capacity.
Five of these schools are currently over capacity.
As our communities in both the western and southwestern sections of the city continue to grow, H.I.S.D. must demonstrate its commitment to ensuring that all families have access to high-quality schools in their neighborhoods.
