Dr. Bob Sanborn and his team at Children at Risk have been incredible advocates for the expansion of early childhood educational options in Texas.Though we are very fortunate in District VI to have a number of high-quality Pre-K programs as well as a dedicated early childhood center, we also know there are still too many students unable to access these opportunities due to limited capacity and resources.
If we truly want to make lasting improvements to K-12 student performance, we must first ensure that every student begins that journey optimally equipped to learn. As District VI's trustee, I am committed to advocating for the expansion of early childhood learning offerings within HISD, as well as pushing counterparts on the state level to allocate the financial resources these programs require and deserve.
